and so i am in full throttle again. with blogging and with poetry. opening an account here at blogspot did wonders to my already drying creative juices. the last time i really had one heluva ride writing poems, was about seven years ago. for some reason the emo in me died down a bit; i dunno, life became a little pleasant, i guess. so having no resource to tap into, i stopped writing altogether. about 3 years ago i did a handful cheesy ones (guess why, hehehe), with just one poem standing out from that year's crop. what made that period worth mentioning was it sort of became a bridge to whatever renaissance i am having now, in terms of developing a writing style.
and now i'm back. i love it that i was able to have an online stash of compositions tucked away somewhere; so when the time came that i moved here at blogspot, i just copied and pasted (here)--easy as one two three. i must confess though that i'm not really schooled when it comes to poetry. i just read works by other writers; search my own emotions, and write what i feel and think. its good they have free verse nowadays for i dunno how my writing will end up if you made me write in metered form, hehehe. (i made one attempt, but i dont think there will be a follow-up to that in the near future... very, very taxing!)
so there. the whole of gentle, for now.

wow. i am trying to get back at writing poems too. kakainis lang, di ako makatapos ng tula.
At least ngayon alam mo na na pede mag-import ng post to other journals. Hehehe =)
blogging really helped me a lot with my creative writing skills. expressing abstract feelings and being able to transform them into words is sheer fun! :)
@ dagger - go to your fave place, somewhere you can think. :) just a suggestion.
@ scheez - haha! kainis ka kuya. :)
@ ron - yes, indeed!
^_^ pleased to know that somebody reads my rants lol
added you. thanks.
you write you beautifully! i love your poems. looking forward to reading and learning more from you =)
frustration ko poetry
hay...
it's also been quite a while since i wrote decent poetry. but as a friend always tells me, if one wants to learn how to ride a bike, he only needs to learn it once. : )
Quoting Victor Gregor, "if one wants to learn how to ride a bike, he only needs to learn it once."
Agree! All we have to do is to muster of strength, get on that bike again, love the feeling, then transform it to a poem.
Welcome back Gentle...
"not really schooled when it comes to poetry"?
come on!! uhm, well, you look like one.. I admire people writing poems smoothly like words are overflowing inside their heads..
I used to write cheesy poems during my college years, yung tipong uupo lang ako sa trono then suddenly I can rhyme words and voila! pero karamihan di natatapos. nangyayari lang yun pag inspired ako eh..tska di ko naiipon, nawalan na ata ako ng gana.
my blogroll is on my random selections blog; i linked you there. : )
do you write sudden fiction, wanderer?
@ isipipis - the pleasure's mine :) especially if they're written intelligently. :)
@ gravity - uhmmm.. learning from me? hehehe. you make it sound parang antanda ko na. lol. i believe writing poems is a very personal journey. you learn by searching your emotions deep within you and putting them to words. with practice, that writing style will surface.
@ abou - ok lang yan. if its not your strength, focus on other things like your good at. di ba you are "hickey man"? hehehe.
@ victor - good point! why, that could be a blog entry by itself! hehe.
@ --E - its as if you were reading my thoughts, mind reader. :)
@ dylan - havent attended any creative writing classes. so all the theories on and the technical terms, di ko alam. basta pag feel ko to go on a certain path or theme, i just do it. so far, gusto ko naman ang kinakalabasan. :)
Here's a challenge for writing.
Define "cheesy". Cover both prose and poetry. Hehehe.
"...my already drying creative juices" -- I blogged hop around and found that my vocabulary is the worst in the land.
